Tiller bearings do not operate smoothly
The older Winners use Nylon under and above the tiller bearing. These bearings are water lubricated. It can happen that within the course of time that steering becomes difficult. This is caused by dirt and sand drying up and lodging between the bearing and the rudder stock. Initially, you can try to move the tiller back and forward with water so that it becomes more supple.
If this does not work, we recommend that you disassemble the tiller when the boat is in winter storage and clean the rudder stock and bearings. The bearings are best cleaned using a disc sander with the correct diameter. The tiller can be reassembled afterwards. Be careful when doing this; the tiller is heavy!
